RME ADI-2 DAC FS D/A converter
With audio enthusiasts in mind, RME has created an alternative version of its ADI-2 PRO converter, originally designed for professional studios, replacing some of the studio features with functionalities better suited for home use. It handles digital-to-analog conversion with the same reference-level quality as its older sibling, but it is easier to use and equipped with a headphone output, an in-ear monitor output, and a very high-quality and functional remote control.Housed in a compact half-rack size, the RME ADI-2 DAC receives digital audio via a USB connection, as well as through a coaxial S/PDIF bus and an optical ADAT-compatible S/PDIF bus. On the output side, it features 2 x RCA, 2 x XLR, and both 6.3mm and 3.5mm stereo jacks. Thus, there are both balanced and unbalanced outputs. Additionally, the device itself offers a 6.3mm Extreme Power headphone output, an ultra-low noise 3.5mm IEM in-ear monitor output, a jitter-suppressing SteadyClock FS clock, four-level output control already in the hardware, a digital signal processor (Bass, Treble, Loudness, 5-band parametric EQ, Crossfeed…), a connection for an external power supply, Class Compliant USB compatibility, and a sampling rate of up to 768 kHz!
DSD and Direct DSD streaming capability are also present, and the signal can be received from S/PDIF and sent forward via USB, as it is a genuine, two-channel Full Duplex converter, as one would expect from RME.
