The Rega Turntable Mat is made from high-quality 100% wool, which serves as an excellent interface between the record and the platter. Wool is naturally a flexible, dampening, and high-friction material, which helps stabilize record rotation and reduces unwanted micro-vibrations that can affect audio reproduction accuracy.
The mat is sized to fit Rega turntables perfectly, but its construction and diameter make it suitable for virtually all turntables that use a traditional platter mat. Installation is simple: the mat is placed on top of the platter and is immediately ready for use without adjustments or tools.
Rega has chosen wool for its excellent resonance control. Compared to synthetic mats, wool provides natural acoustic dampening, which reduces energy transfer between the platter and the record. This helps create a cleaner and more precise sound image, especially on quiet and detailed record tracks.
NOTE! The white mat comes standard with the Planar 10 turntable and is the same mat as used in the P9 and RP10 turntables.
