Rega Stainless 2mm Shim – Tonearm Spacer
Older Rega turntables use nut-mounted tonearms, where the height of the arm cannot be adjusted without a separate shim. If a taller-than-usual cartridge is used, the rear of the tonearm may come too close to the record or even hit it — this distorts the VTA angle and can affect sound quality and the safe operation of the stylus.
Precise 2mm elevation
The shim raises the tonearm's mounting point by exactly 2 millimeters, providing sufficient clearance between the cartridge body and the record surface, allowing the stylus to operate at the correct angle. If more elevation is needed, multiple shims can be stacked. For elevations greater than 4mm, the use of a Sleeved Arm Nut is recommended to ensure secure fastening.
Easy and reversible installation
The shim is made of stainless steel – extremely rigid, stable, and resonance-damping. Installation is straightforward: remove the arm, place the shim under the mounting point, tighten the arm back. The entire procedure is completely reversible with no permanent alterations.
