What artificial load?

In some car models, the factory-installed car stereo mutes when an aftermarket amplifier is added to the speaker line and the stereo detects that there is no longer a speaker (resistor) in the speaker line. The ZXM500.1i eliminates the problem and allows you to select a six-ohm load, which prevents the stereo from muting.

The ZXM500.1i can also automatically turn on when it receives a speaker-level signal, eliminating the need for a separate excitation cable.
