The Phoenix Gold ZX210PBS is a ready-to-use Plug & Play subwoofer with a 10″ low-profile driver and a 10″ passive radiator.
What the hell is a passive radiator?
A passive radiator looks like another subwoofer when installed in a housing, but the passive radiator lacks the speaker motor, i.e. voice coil, and magnet.
The advantage of a passive radiator is that it keeps the frequency response flat and allows the subwoofer to play lower. The passive radiator replaces the reflex tube and has the advantage compared to a reflex tube (or tunnel) that the physical dimensions of the enclosure remain smaller thanks to the passive radiator.
The ZX210PBS is very low (only 14cm) and the drivers are pointed downwards in the enclosure. The downward orientation increases the sound pressure level of the drivers and at the same time keeps the drivers protected. The enclosure is upholstered in stylish black felt and the enclosure takes up only a small part of the trunk compared to a traditional subwoofer enclosure.
The ZX210PBS has a one-ohm element and is impedance compatible with all of our mono amplifiers .
