The Monitor Audio Vestra W10 is the most compact subwoofer in the affordable yet remarkably high-performing Vestra range. A 10-inch, notably long-throw bass driver and a 250-watt, high-efficiency Class D amplifier in a sealed enclosure deliver controlled, nuanced, and credible bass reproduction. The typical in-room frequency range is 19 – 200 Hertz (the crossover naturally allows for limiting the upper range). The Vestra W10 is an excellent choice both as a single unit or in multiples; using multiple subwoofers in a room produces a more balanced bass response over a wider area than just one.
Like the manufacturer's Anthra subwoofers, the crossover in the Vestra models allows for integration with almost any main speakers in stereo systems, with the lowest possible crossover frequency being an exceptionally low 32 Hertz. Although DSP is at the core of the Vestra, adjustments are made with clear and simple knobs. There are stepless adjustments for crossover frequency and volume, and an easy 0/180-degree switch for phase.
Monitor Audio has long been developing its C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) driver technology. The result is a very light cone that is extremely stiff and withstands large pressure variations in bass well, without resonances occurring in its operating range.
The Vestra W10 is equally at home in a music lover's stereo system as it is in a film enthusiast's home theater.
