The upgrade cable for Meze Audio Empyrean and Elite headphones is made from top-of-the-line Furukawa High-Purity Oxygen-free copper wire, plated with pure silver. The Furukawa SILVER PLATED PCUHD copper cable provides more precise and detailed sound quality. This can be particularly noticed in the tightening of transient response and a more controlled bass. The sound is organic and lively in its size and scope. The manufacturing process combines a casting technique that does not involve heat-sensitive materials, and post-processing free from hot pressing or rolling, allowing the product to be mass-produced in a way that prevents debris or other impurities from entering the conductor. Although the product is made of 4N quality material (copper purity 99.99%), it has good malleability and drawability, which allows for the processing of very fine wires. Oxygen is one of the most common impurities in copper products. For this reason, gas torches are not used in the manufacturing process, and the interiors of the equipment are filled with noble gases. These methods allow oxygen to be controlled to 5 ppm, which is below the standard required for oxygen-free copper.
