Ground Zero GZRC 165/28-IV SQ component speaker system, 130W, 3Ω

The Ground Zero GZRC 165/28-IV SQ is an updated version of the legendary GZRC 165 Anniversary-25 speaker series.

The GZRC 165/28-IV SQ series uses the great-sounding GZRK 165SQ elements as mid-woofers. The tweeters are new high-quality 28mm silk domes (GZRT 28SE). The design goal for the series was to achieve the best possible sound quality in its price range. Klippel optimization was utilized in the design, allowing the speaker element structure to be refined to perfection.

The elements work excellently in typical car installation locations. The mid-woofer performs better in door mounting without building separate enclosures, rather than in an enclosure. The mid-woofer has an aluminum cone and rubber surround. The lower-than-normal 3 Ohm impedance helps to draw more power from the player or amplifier.

The tweeter is a silk dome tweeter. The crossovers have significantly shrunk from their predecessor and feature a three-step level adjustment for the tweeter, as well as a high-pass frequency adjustment, which helps to fine-tune the sound to the installation location.

The mid-woofers have their own 6db/oct low-pass filters, which are pre-attached between the included speaker cables. Speaker grilles are included in the package.
