Genelec G Five active speaker

Active 2-way speaker. The G Five is the flagship speaker of the G Series.

Performance comparable to large systems in a compact size: The G Five is suitable for many applications where a wide frequency response is needed, but space is limited. The G Five is perfect for listening to music or as a powerful main speaker for a home theater.

Like all Genelec G-series speakers, the G Five has been designed in collaboration with designer Harri Koskinen and features an advanced Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™), a flow-optimized reflex tube structure, and an acoustically rigid aluminum enclosure. The strength of the enclosure is completed by a durable paint finish and acoustically transparent, yet strong, speaker element protection grilles. Extremely low-distortion speaker elements, appropriately sized 150 W (bass) + 120 W (treble) amplifiers, and precisely designed active crossovers complete the package. Overload protection circuitry and versatile acoustic controls are standard features of the G Five. The G Five is easy to place in various locations. Its back panel has, for example, threads for a wall or ceiling mount.

Carefully designed steep crossovers feed the signal to amplifiers specifically designed for very low-distortion speaker elements. Overload protection circuitry and versatile acoustic controls are standard features of the G Five. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) feature ensures that power consumption remains as low as possible when the speaker is not in use. In automatic standby mode, the speaker's power consumption is less than 0.5 W.

Each G Five comes with an Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) desktop stand which eliminates coloration by isolating the speaker from the surface on which it is placed. The Iso-Pod™ also easily allows for aiming the acoustic axis of the speaker towards the listener.
