The Genelec 9000A volume controller is suitable for use with all Genelec active loudspeakers.
The 9000A is designed to be connected between a line-level stereo audio source and two active loudspeakers. The controller is equipped with 3.5 mm stereo connectors, where the male (plug) is the signal input connector and the female (jack) is the output connector. The 3.5 mm plug fits directly into most MP3 players and computer sound cards, and with an adapter cable, also to RCA connectors (the adapter cable is not included with the 9000A).
A Y-cable is required between the 9000A and the loudspeakers. This cable has a 3.5 mm stereo plug at one end and RCA or XLR connectors at the ends of the Y-split, corresponding to the loudspeaker's signal connectors. Such a cable is included with Genelec 6010A loudspeakers; suitable cables of desired lengths for other models can be purchased from a Genelec dealer.
The cable for the 9000A's input and output connectors is Y-shaped: a one-meter long shielded twisted pair cable from the controller, then splitting into two branches, each two meters long.
The controller is available in two color versions: black and white.
