FiiO FT3 – Dynamic open-back headphones with large drivers
Utilizing beryllium and DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) for their large 60mm drivers, which are angled forward within the earcups and directed towards the ear, the core structure of the FiiO FT3 is both sound and high-tech. The result is a balanced-sounding headphone with good separation, good dynamics, and a good soundstage.
The headphone's aluminum alloy frame is lightweight, durable, and feels like a luxury product in hand. The Sci-Fi-inspired appearance is both bold and stylish. The headphone cable is a three-meter high-quality single-crystal copper cable originally manufactured by Furukawa for OYAIDE, as long as that cable is available in the manufacturer's stock. Four different connectors are included with the cable: the familiar 3.5mm stereo plug, a 6.3mm adapter for it, a 4.4mm balanced plug, and an XLR adapter for it.
The sound character can be easily fine-tuned with the two different earpad types included: choose between fabric or vegan leather according to your preference. Like other over-ear FiiO headphones, the FT3's earcups rotate extensively both horizontally and vertically, fitting comfortably on any head.
High impedance requires very little current from the headphone amplifier and filters out interference more effectively than low impedance. The higher impedance comes from the voice coil, which uses copper-clad aluminum wire only 0.035 mm thick. The very thin coil is part of the extremely lightweight moving mass, thus providing excellent responsiveness to even the smallest nuances of the signal.
