A high-end network player, D/A converter, and analog preamplifier for a modern two-channel system.

New 8.6-inch touchscreen display

One of the most visible updates is the larger 8.6-inch touchscreen display and a completely revamped user interface. The larger screen makes browsing music, managing settings, and monitoring playback clearer than before, and allows for smoother operation directly from the front panel. The interface includes VU meters, a spectrum analyzer, and various visual displays that interact with the music. From a reseller's perspective, the large screen and intuitive user interface also make it easier to present the product to customers.

AKM-based D/A converter solution

The DMP-A8 Gen 2 uses a combination of the AK4191EQ digital processor and the AK4499EX converter chip. Digital signal processing and analog conversion are separated, which reduces interference between circuits and provides a strong foundation for accurate and controlled sound reproduction. The device natively supports DSD512 playback and PCM playback up to 768 kHz and 32 bits.

Fully balanced analog preamplifier stage

The DMP-A8 Gen 2 features a fully balanced analog preamplifier stage and R-2R ladder resistor network volume control. It can thus function not only as a network player and D/A converter but also as the primary central unit for the entire two-channel system. The new Gen2 series also functions as a full-fledged digital preamplifier – Gen2 models can now route audio from digital inputs to digital outputs.

Versatile connectivity

Digital input connections include optical and coaxial inputs, a USB-B audio input, and HDMI ARC. On the analog side, balanced XLR and RCA inputs are available. Analog outputs include XLR and RCA outputs. Digital outputs include USB Audio, AES/EBU, optical, coaxial, and IIS. A new feature is also the SFP fiber optic network connection, which enables an electrically isolated network connection for more demanding systems.

Subwoofer output and evotune™ Pro room correction

The DMP-A8 Gen 2 has a dedicated subwoofer output with an adjustable crossover frequency from 40 to 500 Hz. The updated evotune™ Pro Room Correction offers custom target curves, various adjustment profiles, and FIR correction filters.

More powerful hardware and music library management

The DMP-A8 Gen 2 features a new 64-bit octa-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. The device can scan a music library of up to 200,000 songs in approximately two hours. The device has an M.2 NVMe SSD slot for up to 8 TB of storage capacity (not included).

Extensive streaming service support

Supported services include TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, Apple Music, TuneIn, Radio Paradise, SoundCloud, Presto Music, and IDAGIO. Also included are TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, and DLNA playback. The device can be controlled via the front panel touchscreen, the Eversolo mobile and tablet app, a TV app, and a remote control.

DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen 2

The most visible difference of the Master Edition compared to the basic model is the integrated top-loading CD player. CDs can be both played and ripped as part of the local music library. Clocking has been implemented more extensively than in the basic model: an OCXO crystal oscillator, PLL technology, a femtosecond-class system clock, and a 10 MHz external clock input.
