The third generation of Alpine's R-Series is here!
Alpine has revamped its entire R-Series speaker lineup, and all new models are now Hi-Res Audio certified, with a frequency response extending up to 40 kilohertz!
For the first time in Alpine's history, the R-Series now includes a three-way component system, which has been highly anticipated in recent years. Two-way component systems are available in two different options: Standard and Professional.
Alpine 2022 R-Series lineup:
- R2-S65 Standard (6.5″ coaxial)
- R2-S69 Standard (6×9″ coaxial)
- R2-S65C Standard (6.5″ component system)
- R2-S69C Standard (6×9″ component system)
- R2-S652 PROFESSIONAL (6.5″ component system)
- R2-S653 PROFESSIONAL (6.5″ three-way system)
6.5″ PROFESSIONAL three-way component system
The R2-S653 is Alpine's first "R-Series" three-way component system, which has been long-awaited in the lineup. The component system features cast-frame 6.5″ mid-bass drivers, cast-frame 4″ midrange drivers, and 4.3cm tweeters with magnesium cones.
The system offers an extremely wide frequency response, from 65 Hz up to 40 kilohertz.
Fiberglass-reinforced cone
The R2-S653 series mid-bass and midrange drivers utilize fiberglass-reinforced cones. The cone material is exceptionally lightweight and rigid, resulting in highly accurate sound reproduction.
Cast frames and large magnets
Alpine R-Series PROFESSIONAL component systems (R2-S652 and R2-S653) feature cast-frame midrange drivers, while the more affordable "Standard" series speakers have composite frames.
The advantage of an aluminum cast frame is its completely vibration-free structure and the ability to use heavier magnets. Despite the larger magnets, the mounting depth of the mid-bass driver has been kept the same as in the previous R-Series lineup.
Hi-Res Audio tweeters
The new magnesium-cone tweeters reproduce even the smallest details of music with exceptional accuracy, with a frequency response extending up to 40kHz.
You can install the tweeters with surface-mount cups or flush-mount cups. Both installation options allow for aiming the tweeters within their cups.
Easy installation
The tweeters are detachable, making it easier to install them in place of factory-installed tweeters in various car models, for example, in the A-pillar, mirror triangle, or door panel. This type of installation helps maintain the original aesthetic of the car's interior.
High-end two-way crossovers
The R-Series PROFESSIONAL component systems feature larger crossovers than the Standard models, utilizing only high-end components to ensure the best possible sound quality. The crossovers include a three-level tweeter attenuation (-3dB / 0dB / +3dB) and a three-level midrange attenuation (-3dB / 0dB / +3dB).
HAMR suspension
Alpine's HAMR (High-Amplitude Multi-Roll) suspension ensures linear cone excursion at all volume levels, resulting in extremely controlled bass reproduction even at higher volumes.
New grilles
The grilles for the third-generation R-Series are both sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. The grilles are designed so that the outer diameter of the speakers does not increase at all.
