The Alpine HDS-990 is a Hi-Res Audio media player from the Alpine Status series for car audio systems. Refurbished unit in good condition.

The HDS-990 is installed alongside your car's original or aftermarket head unit. The device does not include a radio tuner or Bluetooth hands-free function – you use these in the familiar way through your car's current head unit.

The sound quality of the HDS-990 is world-class: the player can reproduce music at up to 192 kHz / 24 bit quality. Supported audio formats: MP3, WMA, AAC, MP4, WAV, FLAC, APE, and DSD. Music can be fed via three USB connections or via Bluetooth (Bluetooth playback max. 96 kHz / 24 bit).

The Alpine Status media player is easier to install in modern cars than traditional head units: the 1-DIN central unit is installed out of sight, e.g., behind the dashboard, and only the stylish and easy-to-use control panel remains visible.

The HDS-990 includes versatile input options. The factory head unit can be connected with a speaker-level signal, and an aftermarket head unit with RCA. In addition, there are three USB inputs (all 192 kHz / 24 bit) and a Bluetooth receiver (96 kHz / 24 bit).

Outputs: built-in 4 × 50 W amplifier, six-channel RCA outputs for external amplifiers, optical Toslink output, and digital coaxial output – for example, to the Alpine Status HDP-D90 DSP amplifier.
