2016 - striving for excellence.
Let's design an excellent subwoofer that is reasonably priced. And fits Plug&Play style into the original speaker slots under the seats of BMW cars. A couple of decades of experience with products from other quality speaker manufacturers helped us understand how even small details have a big impact on the end result.
2017 - testing and finalization.
Product development had progressed so far that a rough version of the final product existed. A car equipped with these speakers was entered into the EMMA (European Mobile Media Association) car hi-fi competition in the Master OEM category. The result was the Finnish Championship. During the rest of the year, the details of the speaker were refined and the product was more refined and ready for production. The effort towards the best possible result in its price range resulted in a speaker called Four Audio SW8-BMW.
2018 - towards the best.
The excellent speaker was now ready for production and the next step was taken on its basis. Towards the best. The frame, cone and top suspension, which were found to be the best on the market, are the same as those in the Four Audio SW8-BMW speaker. To achieve even better power factor and cone control, the magnet was changed to a double magnet. Even lower bass reproduction was achieved by improvements to the bottom suspension. Lower reproduction requires more travel and power endurance. These properties were achieved by changes made to the voice coil. Thus, the AI Sonic BMW-SW8 was completed.
2019 - excellent and the best. Ready.
The choice is yours. Do you want great bass at a reasonable price? Or the best possible bass? Whichever you choose, you're guaranteed to get the best value for your money.
This speaker is not directly compatible with BMW Top Hifi (Harman/Kardon, Logic7, HiFi System Professional DSP, etc.) systems with equipment codes S688A/S677A/S752A. The reason is that these amplifiers cannot handle a 2 ohm load like the HiFi package's S676A and S674A amplifiers and the player alone can.
