The headphones have speaker drivers placed close to the ears. Sound travels to the eardrum without passing through a separate space. This allows the sound source to be clearly heard, but it is difficult to localize individual sounds and instruments.

The 3D SOUND FIELD utilizes over 30 years of experience with CINEMA DSP processing in home theater systems, transforming 2-channel listening into a multi-channel experience. The feature localizes the sound source using patented HRTF (head-related transfer function) audio technology, which synthesizes binaural sound and converts a two-channel audio source into a three-dimensional sound field.

OPTIMIZED LISTENING EXPERIENCE

Internal microphones continuously monitor the ear canal and conditions, ensuring a pure reference sound – resulting in a superb listening experience.

The size and shape of the head and ears affect how each person perceives the sound from headphones.

Yamaha's Listening Optimizer uses a button microphone to measure seal and air leaks in different shaped ears every 20 seconds. Playback is optimized in real-time to correct the difference between the source and actual conditions, thus fully adapting the sound to the listener.

DAMPEN NOISE, NOT MUSIC

Yamaha's unique noise cancellation technology never interferes with the sound source, but fades out noise and produces a pure audio signal.

Active noise cancellation tends to lose low-frequency signals during music playback. Advanced noise cancellation technology uses a new approach and suppresses background noise without processing the music signal.

Button microphones listen to the combined signals of music and noise and separate background noise and music during signal processing. This is achieved by isolating the two using a new and unique algorithm.

The signal collected by the internal microphone analyzes the noise and calculates the sound to be removed from the playback signal so that only background noise is eliminated. Thus, the music signal does not need to be unnecessarily processed, resulting in a cleaner listening experience.
