YAMAHA'S UNIQUE FLOATING AND BALANCED POWER AMPLIFIER TECHNOLOGY
Yamaha has optimized its patented floating and balanced power amplifier technology for this headphone amplifier. The four power amplifier circuit sets on the plus and minus sides of the left and right channels of the output stage are floating, allowing for a completely symmetrical push-pull operation of the output stage. Headphones can be used without changing the amplifier's configuration between balanced and unbalanced, minimizing possible sound quality differences due to different output connections. In addition, all circuits, including the power supply, are completely independent of the ground, and the effect of minor voltage fluctuations and external ground interference is completely eliminated. By maximizing these sound quality advantages, the amplifier produces a natural and unstrained sound, allowing you to relax completely with your entertainment for long periods at a time.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE ESS 32-BIT DA CONVERTER
To achieve the premium sound quality befitting Yamaha's top-of-the-line headphone amplifier, we use ESS Technology's ES9038PRO converter, which is in a league of its own among DA converters with its high-quality reproduction of small signals. The device's main clock uses a very low phase noise crystal oscillator to implement accurate DA conversion. The eight-channel DA converter in the chip performs conversion on four channels on the right and left sides. The four channels provide exceptionally high-quality audio output with a wide dynamic range and a premium signal-to-noise ratio. This allows you to enjoy a magnificent headphone experience where you can hear even the background sounds of a concert hall and the most subtle details of instrument sounds.
DISCRETE CONSTRUCTION AND BALANCED TRANSMISSION
All main stages after the DA converter are connected to a balanced circuit and a discrete configuration, enabling a fully balanced transmission from the DA converter's output to the headphone jack. In addition, standard single-ended (unbalanced) inputs are internally converted to balanced to leverage the unique advantages of balanced transmission and amplification, such as reducing external noise and sound quality degradation, for a wide range of input sources. When using balanced-compatible headphones, the common impedance of the transmission system is eliminated, further improving the signal separation crucial for headphone listening.
DYNAMICS
To perfectly convey the contrast between the calm silence and dramatic movement of sound, the amplifier features two toroidal transformers and a unique, highly rigid construction. Without compromise, we have achieved an excellent low-frequency response that reacts to even the smallest sounds, luxurious volume, and exceptional clarity. LOW-FREQUENCY REPRODUCTION AND EXCELLENT SPATIALITY WITH TWO TOROIDAL TRANSFORMERS
Separate transformers are used for the signal circuits of the preamplifier section and the second stage of the amplifier section in the power supply. The power supply is separate, minimizing noise due to mutual signal interference. In addition, the use of toroidal transformers significantly reduces magnetic flux leakage. The use of a dual winding also reduces voltage fluctuations, which in turn improves the stability of the power supply and produces superb spatiality and powerful low-frequency reproduction.
EXTREMELY RIGID CONSTRUCTION PREVENTS VIBRATION FROM AFFECTING SOUND
To prevent harmful effects on audio signals due to external and internal vibrations, the unit features a robust construction combining an original design concept with highly rigid components. The L-shaped top panel is made of an 8 mm thick extruded aluminum panel, and the naturally vibrating toroidal transformer is firmly attached to a 2 mm thick steel plate. Strong support is provided by a thick front panel, a double back panel, and a unique chassis structure with a base plate at the bottom. The durable casing eliminates unnecessary vibrations and allows for powerful yet delicate low-frequency reproduction, so you can feel the full powerful energy and genuine realism of the music.
STABLE METAL FEET
The eye-catching L-shaped HA-L7A amplifier features five conical steel feet at each corner of the chassis. Dampers between each foot and the base plate effectively eliminate all vibrations and firmly and stably support the amplifier even on a desk or tabletop. The 5.3 kg chassis and all components together effectively eliminate unwanted vibrations to produce focused and realistic sound reproduction.

LOW-NOISE CIRCUIT DESIGN AND HIGH-QUALITY COMPONENTS
The HA-L7A amplifier features a low-noise design with three isolated circuit boards: the main board, which handles small signals, the amplifier board and amplifier, and the system power supply board. In addition, the main board is designed to eliminate unwanted crosstalk between digital and analog signals by using a multi-layer board and eliminating ground loops. The volume IC used is the MUSES72323, known for its exceptionally low distortion and low-noise output. The power supply IC manufactured by Analog Devices has low output noise and high ripple rejection. The converter section uses the ES9842QPRO manufactured by ESS Technology. By using only carefully selected high-quality components through repeated listening tests, we have achieved the most natural possible sound field reproduction.

THREE HEADPHONE JACKS ON THE FRONT PANEL
The HA-L7A amplifier's front panel features two balanced headphone jacks, allowing you to enjoy the precise high quality of a balanced circuit, and one unbalanced headphone jack with gold plating to reduce contact loss. The balanced XLR headphone jacks feature renowned NEUTRIK connectors, and the 4.4 mm 5-pin jacks feature Pentaconn connectors, to which you can connect your favorite headphones and unleash their full potential.
