Balanced output for a fully balanced signal chain from cartridge to speaker
Together with the C-5000 preamplifier and M-5000 power amplifier, Yamaha offers an end-to-end balanced signal chain in all its flagship models for premium performance.
GT Series design
Drawing from the heritage of Hi-Fi's golden age, the GT-5000 is inspired by Yamaha's original "Gigantic and Tremendous" series turntables, characterized by heavy wooden cabinets and platters that suppressed vibration and provided enhanced and superior audio performance.
Straight and rigid tonearm for transparency and openness in sound reproduction
Accurately capturing sound from the source is the essential first step in producing authentic and genuine Hi-Fi sound.
The flagship GT-5000 features a straight and rigid tonearm designed to deliver premium rigidity and a balance of weight and mechanics, thereby improving sound reproduction quality.
Its rigid and structurally simple mechanism ensures that no separate weight is needed to dampen internal forces.
Specially designed belt drive to stabilize the platter
The GT-5000's specially designed belt drive minimizes motor influence and produces an open and smooth sound.
In the original GT concept, rotation was prevented by the device's internal mass. This is a built-in feature of the GT-5000, which prevents rotation using a belt drive.
Heavy 5 kg aluminum platter
Increased stability and performance are provided by the GT-5000's heavy aluminum platter, weighing an impressive 5 kg.
24-pole, 2-phase AC synchronous motor
The GT-5000 is driven by a 24-pole, 2-phase AC synchronous motor, which produces an accurate sine wave.
Specially designed heavy-duty feet
The GT-5000 features an exceptionally robust and stable construction – this also applies to the specially designed feet, which are custom-made for this flagship model.
Supporting the GT-5000's robust yet exemplary luxurious look and feel, the specially designed feet ensure high-quality audio reproduction.
Luxurious piano black finish
Having achieved flagship Hi-Fi status, the GT-5000 features a luxurious glossy black finish, reminiscent of a Yamaha grand piano, perfectly matching the C-5000 preamplifier, M-5000 power amplifier, and NS-5000 flagship speakers.
