It is designed to transmit video and audio at a blistering 48 Gb/s capacity, allowing compressed 10K@120Hz or uncompressed 8K@60Hz video resolution as well as Dolby Atmos audio to be transmitted over long distances of 7.5-20 meters. Ingenious Hybrid Design

QED's innovative Ultra High Speed Active Optical Technology™ hybrid design combines a copper core with optical fiber, which together are capable of pure video and audio transmission over very long lengths, without the need for an external power supply.

Pure copper conductor cables exceeding three meters in length are susceptible to disruptions in the 48 Gb/s HDMI signal, making it impossible to reliably decode at the receiving end. By replacing four of the nineteen copper cores with optical fiber, data transmission over longer cable runs is not degraded by losses (due to impedance mismatch) or timing variations (due to crosstalk).
