Q Acoustics Concept 90 Center
The center speaker, in any home theater system, regardless of size, plays an important role in delivering a realistic surround experience. In addition to supporting the left and right front speakers, the center channel anchors dialogue and is a seamless part of the entire soundscape. The Concept 90 is an advanced center speaker that incorporates many of Q Acoustics' key anti-resonance technologies to produce an accurate and captivating cinematic sound. The Concept 90 center speaker complements Q Acoustics' Concept stand-mounted or floor-standing speakers to create a stunning home theater system.
Consistent Quality
In a home theater speaker system, crucial sound synergy is ensured in the Concept 90 by, among other things, using the same hermetically sealed and decoupled tweeter. The installation of the drivers follows the same structure as in the Concept 30 and 50. An isolation base, featuring two plates separated by suspension balls, is also included to isolate the cabinet from external resonances – this is a crucial detail, especially when the speaker is placed directly on top of a TV stand. With good isolation, the center speaker provides more controlled sound and adds depth to your music and movies.
Controlled Power
Both the 5-inch mid-/bass driver and the 1-inch tweeter are designed as an integral part of the cabinet's mechanical structure. The drivers are mounted on a rigid 3mm aluminum plate before the entire assembly is installed in the cabinet. This provides proper acoustic sealing, dampens vibration, and minimizes structural coupling.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front baffle, which means lower distortion and a lower crossover frequency, ensuring seamless reproduction in the crossover region. The mid-/bass driver's large 30.5mm voice coil improves motor force, resulting in 50% better power handling compared to the 25.4mm voice coil typically used in drivers of similar size.
Finally, the crossover is mounted on a separate isolated platform, keeping it free from sound-degrading vibrations and away from the electromagnetic influences of the drivers.
Elegant Design
The sophisticated design lines familiar from the 300 and 500 flagship models and the stunning high-gloss finish are replicated in this Concept 90 model, which features an aluminum front baffle. The Concept 90 center speaker is available in three striking piano lacquered finishes: black, silver, and white.
Gelcore™ Technology
The Gelcore™ cabinet construction, introduced in the original Concept speaker, is designed to minimize high-frequency noise. The unique implementation consists of an unhardened gel added between two separate cabinet layers. This special combination converts high-frequency vibration generated by kinetic energy into heat, resulting in peaceful and accurate sound reproduction.
Bi-Wire Connection
All Concept series models feature a Bi-Wire connection for speaker cables. This allows two separate pairs of cables to be run from the amplifier to the speaker. Bi-wiring helps minimize intermodulation distortion caused by interaction between high and low frequencies, resulting in clearer midrange reproduction.
