We said no to colored sound
The key acoustic innovations of the Concept 30 lie in the design of the quietest possible cabinet. These speakers are wonderfully free from internal or external resonances, offering a focused stereo image, accurate sound, and a transparent soundstage that mimics a live performance in your home.
All our resonance-inhibiting innovations allow the high-quality drivers to do their job to produce the most realistic and immersive sound at this price point.
Controlled power
Both the 5-inch mid/bass driver and the 1-inch tweeter are designed as an integral part of the cabinet's mechanical structure. The drivers are secured to a rigid 3mm aluminum baffle before the assembly is mounted into the cabinet. This provides proper acoustic sealing, dampens vibrations, and minimizes structural coupling.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front baffle, which means lower distortion and a lower crossover frequency for seamless reproduction in the crossover region. The mid/bass driver's large 30.5mm voice coil enhances motor force, resulting in 50% better power handling compared to the 25.4mm voice coil typically used in drivers of similar size.
Finally, the crossover is mounted on a separate isolated base, keeping it free from sound-degrading vibrations and away from the electromagnetic influences of the drivers.
Elegant design
The sophisticated design lines and stunning high-gloss finish, familiar from the 300 and 500 flagship models, are reiterated in this Concept 30 model with an aluminum front baffle. The Concept 30 is available in three striking piano-lacquered finishes: black, silver, and white.
Gelcore™ technology
The Gelcore™ cabinet construction, introduced in the original Concept speaker, is designed to minimize high-frequency noise. This unique implementation consists of a non-hardening gel placed between two separate cabinet layers. This special combination converts high-frequency vibrations generated by kinetic energy into heat, resulting in peaceful and accurate sound reproduction.
Isolated suspension system
The Concept 30 utilizes a variation of the highly effective sprung isolation base from the Concept 300. Two plates are separated by suspension components that effectively isolate the cabinet from disturbances caused by external vibrations. The effect is particularly noticeable in a more precise stereo image and an increased sense of depth in the soundstage.
P2P™ (Point to Point™) technology
To maintain the utmost cabinet stability, the Concept 30 employs P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing. First introduced in the Concept 500, this bracing is installed in internal areas of the cabinet that are susceptible to low-frequency reverberation.
The cabinet's P2P™ bracing has been studied using Finite Element Analysis and laser measurement, allowing the final result to be optimized down to a microscopic level.
This cutting-edge technology has enabled Q Acoustics to precisely identify and apply bracing at the strategically most important points in the cabinet that require additional support.
Bi-Wire connection
All models in the Concept series feature Bi-Wire terminals for speaker cables. This allows two separate pairs of cables to be run from the amplifier to the speaker. Bi-wiring helps minimize intermodulation distortion caused by interaction between high and low frequencies, resulting in a clearer mid-range reproduction.
