We said no to colored sound
The most important acoustic innovations of the Concept 30 can be found in the design of the quietest possible enclosure. These speakers are wonderfully free from internal or external resonances, offering a focused stereo image, precise sound, and a transparent soundstage that mimics a live performance in your home.
All our resonance-inhibiting innovations allow the high-end drivers to do their job, producing the most realistic and immersive sound at this price point.
Controlled Power
Both the 5-inch mid/bass driver and the 1-inch tweeter have been designed as an important part of the enclosure's mechanical structure. The drivers are mounted to a rigid 3mm aluminum baffle before the entire assembly is fitted into the cabinet. This provides proper acoustic sealing, dampens vibration, and minimizes structural coupling.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front baffle, which means lower distortion and a lower crossover frequency, ensuring seamless reproduction in the crossover region. The mid/bass driver's large 30.5mm voice coil improves motor force, resulting in 50% better power handling compared to the 25.4mm voice coil typically used in similarly sized drivers.
Finally, the crossover is mounted on a separate isolated base, keeping it free from sound-degrading vibrations and away from the electromagnetic influences of the drivers.
Elegant Design
The refined design lines and stunning high-gloss finish familiar from the flagship 300 and 500 models are repeated in this Concept 30 model with an aluminum baffle. The Concept 30 is available in three striking piano lacquer finishes: black, silver, and white.
Gelcore™ Technology
The Gelcore™ cabinet construction, introduced in the original Concept speaker, is designed to minimize high-frequency noise. The unique implementation consists of an unhardened gel inserted between two separate cabinet layers. This special combination converts high-frequency vibrations generated by kinetic energy into heat, resulting in peaceful and precise sound reproduction.
Isolation Suspension System
The Concept 30 uses a variation of the highly effective sprung isolation base platform, first seen in the Concept 300. Two plates are separated by suspension parts that effectively isolate the cabinet from disturbances caused by external vibrations. The effect is particularly audible as a more precise stereo image and an increased sense of depth in the soundstage.
P2P™ (Point to Point™) Technology
To maintain maximum cabinet stability, the Concept 30 uses P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing. First introduced in the Concept 500, the bracing is installed in the internal areas of the cabinet that are susceptible to low-frequency reverberation.
The P2P™ bracing of the cabinet has been studied using Finite Element Analysis tools and laser measurement, allowing the final result to be optimized down to a microscopic level.
With this cutting-edge technology, Q Acoustics has been able to precisely identify and apply bracing in the most strategically important areas of the cabinet that require additional support.
Bi-Wire Connection
All models in the Concept series feature a bi-wire connection for speaker cables. This allows two separate pairs of cables to be run from the amplifier to the speaker. Bi-wiring minimizes intermodulation distortion caused by the interaction between high and low frequencies, resulting in a clearer mid-range reproduction.
