At the heart of the 2nd generation Mu-so is Naim's music streaming platform, developed over three years by 25 engineers to provide the best possible performance, whether you're playing your own digital music collection, the world of internet radio, or music streaming services like TIDAL and Spotify. This acclaimed innovation is unique to Naim's music streaming devices, such as the Uniti range and network players, including the valuable flagship streamer ND 555.
DSP - The Heart of the System
A brand new multi-core digital signal processor (DSP) boosts performance to 2000 MIPS (million instructions per second) computing power, compared to the original Mu-so's single-core 150 MIPS DSP. Now you can hear even more from your music.
We have also created a brand-new limiter algorithm that keeps the movement of every element of the new Mu-so under control when exceptional volume is desired. The new limiter is active only at extreme volume levels and helps maintain music clarity and improves long-term reliability.

Optimized Speaker Drivers
Powered by the Mu-so's 450 watts of musical power, the system features highly precisely optimized new speaker drivers, which resulted from a joint product development project between Naim and Focal designers.
Focal has been creating top acoustic equipment since 1979, and its expertise has elevated the precision and performance of the drivers to a new level.
Explore the New Intuitive User Interface
The new intuitive user interface features 15 touch-sensitive buttons and a bold, illuminated volume control wheel with a proximity sensor that awakens the display. Simply bring your hand close, and the interface magically lights up.
95% Re-engineered
The premium aluminum casing and new polished gray finish may look similar to the first Mu-so at first glance, but most of the new Mu-so's internal components have been upgraded for improved performance.
The cabinet design has been revamped to increase the internal volume by up to 13%, allowing for a more robust and better bass response. Both the cabinet bracing and the molded front baffle have been redesigned to be even more rigid, which dampens and controls vibrations.
The distinctive cooling fins are now more compact, yet still highly efficient, and continue to feature Naim's patented technology, where the Wi-Fi antenna is discreetly integrated.
Updated Control App
The updated Naim app allows you to browse music by artist, genre, and album, among other things, even enhanced with album art and extended music information. You can control the volume, device lighting, multi-room playback, and create playlists.
