The upgrade cable for Meze Audio Empyrean and Elite headphones is made from top-of-the-line Furukawa High-Purity Oxygen-free copper wire, plated with pure silver. The Furukawa SILVER PLATED PCUHD copper cable provides a more precise and detailed sound quality. This is especially noticeable in the tightening of transient response and a more controlled bass. The sound is organic and lively in its size and breadth. The manufacturing process combines a casting technique that does not involve heat-sensitive materials, and post-processing that is free from hot pressing or rolling, allowing the product to be mass-produced in a way that prevents debris or other impurities from entering the conductor. Although the product is made of 4N quality material (copper purity 99.99%), it has good malleability and drawability, allowing for the handling of very fine wires. Oxygen is one of the most common impurities in copper products. For this reason, gas burners are not used in the manufacturing process, and the internal parts of the equipment are filled with noble gases. These methods can control oxygen to 5 ppm, which is below the standard required for oxygen-free copper.
