Ground Zero GZRK 165SQ, pair

The Ground Zero GZRK 165 SQ is a 6.5″ mid-bass driver with an aluminum cone from the Radioactive SQ series.

The series was developed based on the previous Radioactive AL series, in the design of which Ground Zero's Finnish importer Audioimport (now AI Group) was heavily involved. The drivers work excellently in typical car installation locations. The mid-bass works better in door installations without building separate enclosures, rather than in an enclosure.

The mid-bass has an aluminum cone and a rubber surround. The lower-than-normal 3 ohm impedance helps to extract more power from the head unit or amplifier. Also available as a 2-way component set Ground Zero GZRC 165SQ.2, a 3-way component set Ground Zero GZRC 165.3SQ, and an active version of the 3-way Ground Zero GZRC 165.3SQ-ACT. Separate tweeters Ground Zero GZRT 25SQ and midrange drivers Ground Zero GZRM 80SQ complete the series.

In Autohifikanava's major component speaker test, this mid-bass received a special mention for its bass reproduction.

Overall, the best offering of this set is definitely the bass, which is quite robust and powerful. The sound is also pleasantly rich, without being floppy.
