Key Features
- All the components of this tweeter are manufactured with a CNC process. This is a very expensive and time-consuming manufacturing process, but it ensures perfect geometry and impeccable aesthetics. A mix of precious materials such as brass, stainless steel and Avional aluminum are used together to create a unique product.
- The tweeter uses a very large vented neodymium motor magnet, optimized with computer simulations (FEA) for high efficiency and improved linearity throughout the voice coil excursion. The neodymium magnet is of high grade to neutralize magnetic losses at high temperatures and to concentrate more power in a smaller volume.
- The Torcon® soft dome, an exclusive Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) with high-performance fiber, provides excellent heat resistance, low mass, and superb self-damping to obtain a free-resonance frequency response above the listening range. Our dome's semi-catenary profile offers maximum rigidity at the apex of the dome. The result is a clean, smooth, and transparent sound reproduction from 940Hz to 25kHz with high power handling and a high efficiency.
- A central vent hole provides optimum moving coil cooling for high power handling without dynamic compression, while reducing the air compression at the back of the dome, greatly reducing distortion and extending the response to lower frequencies. A peculiar acoustic resistance helps to control the Qts of the tweeter. The residual resonance is neutralized by the dB Cloth® damping material under the dome, which extends the frequency response to lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion.
- For the installation of the tweeter, the installer can use the classic solution recommended by ESB for decades: the aluminum threaded ring.
