• Polymer laminated silk dome (tweeter) with Sonatex™ coating creates a perfect balance between weight, stiffness, and self-damping. The catenary curvature ensures wide sound dispersion of the tweeter.
• High-grade neodymium magnets. Not all magnets of the same size are equally strong. This high-grade (N-52), high-energy magnet offers high resistance to demagnetization and is more than 25% stronger for the same mass than more common lower-grade magnets.
• The acoustic resistance component inside the vent hole helps control and damp the diaphragm's movement, reducing distortion and yielding a linear impedance curve for better speaker/amplifier coupling.
• Ultra-low carbon steel alloy pole piece CNC machined with magnetic analysis software (FEM) to create a perfect geometry.
• Long fiber, unbleached cellulose diaphragm (midrange) with a special external treatment that makes this material a perfect blend of lightness, rigidity, and internal damping. Demanding audiophiles consider cellulose pulp to be the best compromise for a speaker diaphragm reproducing low and mid frequencies.
• The curved shaped cone improves the performance of this speaker through its unique geometry. The delicate inner part of the cone incorporates a steep angle design assisting its performance. The outer edge is flat and stiffer, producing stronger mid-bass frequencies that radiate evenly throughout the listening environment.
• The voice coil is designed to be ultra-light to easily reach the highest frequencies but at the same time remain durable enough to handle high power. The copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil is very light and has excellent thermal dissipation/capacity. Copper is clad onto the aluminum surface, offering an equivalent copper surface area at a fraction of the weight of a solid copper wire.
• Injection-molded ABS twin frame. This customized assembly is what has made ESB famous in the car audio world: the UMA unit ("Unità Medio Alta" in Italian). The ultra-close placement of the midrange and tweeter sound source centers makes these two components practically one, easing installation in cars where space is tight and separating these elements would create quite a lot of phase issues.
• High-quality protective stainless steel grille, with perforations calibrated to act as an acoustic lens, ensuring sound radiation on the speaker axis.
