It is often difficult or impossible to add an external amplifier to a factory-installed music player in newer cars, for example, for a subwoofer. Many external amplifiers have speaker-level inputs that work with slightly older players, but newer cars with digital amplifiers have been problematic. DLS's updated HLC 4.2 is the solution to this.
The DLS HLC 4.2 is an active line converter that works with all types of original players thanks to its balanced line inputs and filters. The HLC 4.2 can be used as a two- or four-channel converter and the converter can be selected to turn on the amplifier when receiving a speaker signal or when the player is turned on.
New to the HLC 4.2 line converter is the CP-EBC level control. Connecting the level control sums the signals from the third and fourth channels, allowing the remote control to function as a subwoofer level control.
