CTK MultiMat PRO 5.5mm is a highly effective 3-layer damping mat that can be used either on top of an alubutyl mat or directly attached to the material to be dampened.
The Multimat damping mat provides comprehensive damping using just one mat, saving time and materials. By attaching the Multimat over the alubutyl mat, you get really effective damping over a wide frequency range and we recommend using this method whenever possible.
The Multimat damping mat has a 3-layer structure:
- The bottom layer is butyl rubber, which serves to dampen the resonance of the sheet metal/parts. The thickness of this layer is 1.2mm.
- The second layer is foam rubber, which dampens sound waves and prevents echoing, for example, inside a door.
- The top layer acts as a sound-blocking mat in the same way as the Block PRO sound-absorbing mat from the CTK range. The effectiveness of this mat is based on the fact that it is a dense and heavy fabric-faced mat, preventing sound from passing through the mat.
Even though the middle layer of the mat is made of soft material, it still does not absorb water, so the manufacturer recommends that this mat be installed inside the doors, on the floor, in the wheel arches, on the firebox, in the trunk, and even on the roof.
