Improvements

BLAM has revamped its all-time most popular 165RS Relax component speaker set, and the new SR165S is the first set to belong to the new Super Relax product family.

The improvements to the component speaker set concern all components, as the midwoofers feature a redesigned basket, cone, and upper suspension. The crossover components are of even higher quality, and the tweeters are even more compact than before. The midwoofer's reproduction, especially in the bass range, is more linear, and the sound is even more pleasing. With the update, the impedance of the component set has also changed from two ohms to three.

Installability

BLAM SR165S continues BLAM's familiar line, where in addition to sound, attention has always been paid to installability and the longevity of the speakers.

The tweeters deserve special mention regarding installation, as they are physically small and thus can be installed in place of the original tweeters of as many cars as possible. The size of the crossovers is also a decisive factor, and there are separate passive crossovers with a 6dB slope for the tweeters in the set, and the small crossovers are easy to install between the speaker wires.

The cooling of the midwoofer's voice coil is handled through large ventilation holes, and the lower suspension is the familiar "Long Life" Conex lower suspension from its predecessor.

The BLAM SR165S midwoofers have been completely revamped, and of the visible parts, only the magnet is the same as in the previous model. With the updates, the sound is truly pleasing, and the midwoofer reproduces lower frequencies even better than its predecessor. The SR165S midwoofers feature a three-ohm Kapton voice coil.

Tweeters

The BLAM T1020 is a 20mm fabric dome tweeter that is truly compact in size. Thanks to this, it is physically possible to install the tweeter in the place of the original tweeter of many cars, and there will be no visible change to the car's interior with the speaker replacement.

If you want to surface mount the tweeters, stylish "Bullet" surface mounting cups are included.

Crossovers

• 6 dB/octave high-pass filters
• Adjustable tweeter level: 0 dB or -3 dB

The crossovers have higher quality components than before, and the filters are easy to install between the tweeter wires. The tweeter level can be easily adjusted, and by connecting the two open wires in the filter, the tweeter level can be reduced by three decibels.
