Updates

BLAM has updated its most popular 165RS Relax component set, and the new SR165S is the first set to belong to the new Super Relax product family.

The component set's updates affect all components, as the mid-woofers have an updated frame, cone, and surround. The crossover components are even higher quality, and the tweeters are even more compact than before. The mid-woofer's reproduction, especially in the bass range, is more linear, and the sound is even more pleasant. With the update, the component set's impedance has also changed from two ohms to three.

Installability

The BLAM SR165S continues BLAM's familiar approach, where in addition to sound, attention is always paid to installability and the longevity of the speakers.

From an installation perspective, the tweeters deserve special mention. They are physically small, making them installable in place of the original tweeters of as many cars as possible. For crossovers too, size is a crucial factor. The set's tweeters have separate passive crossovers with a 6dB slope, and the compact crossovers are easy to install between the speaker wires.

The mid-woofer's voice coil cooling is handled through large ventilation holes, and the spider is the familiar "Long Life" Conex spider from the predecessor.

The BLAM SR165S mid-woofers have been completely redesigned, and of the visible parts, only the magnet is the same as in the previous model. Thanks to the updates, the sound is truly pleasant, and the mid-woofer reproduces lower frequencies even better than its predecessor. The SR165S mid-woofers have a three-ohm Kapton voice coil.

Tweeters

The BLAM T1020 is a 20mm fabric dome tweeter that is very compact in size. This allows the tweeter to be physically installed in place of the original tweeter in many cars, and there will be no visible changes to the car's interior when changing the speakers.

If you want to surface-mount the tweeters, stylish "Bullet" surface-mount cups are included.

Crossovers

• 6 dB/octave high-pass filters
• Adjustable tweeter level: 0 dB or -3 dB

The crossovers have higher quality components than before, and the filters are easy to install between the tweeter wires. The tweeter level can be easily adjusted, and by connecting the two open wires in the crossover, the tweeter level can be reduced by three decibels.
