The car-specific reversing camera is installed in place of the car's original additional brake light. The additional brake light camera is IP68 protected, so the camera is completely dustproof and can withstand high-pressure water jets.

The camera has a fixed cable with a multi-pin connector and a 10m cable is supplied with the camera, which can be used to connect the camera to, for example, an Alpine player or a separate monitor.

Installation:

  1. Connect the yellow RCA connector to the rear view camera connector on the player/monitor. Use the included RCA Male to RCA Male adapter if necessary. If you are using a player with an Alpine Direct connector, you will need the AH-CAMA-Alp1 adapter
  2. Connect the red wire to the Reverse wire on the steering wheel remote control.
  3. Ground the black wire.
  4. Connect the other end of the 10m extension cable to the wire on the brake light camera.
  5. Connect the other end of the 10m extension cable to the power/ground/video signal wire.
  6. Cut the green wire on the camera if you do not want guide lines in the reversing image.
  7. Test that the camera works with reverse gear before you attach everything.
    1. If the screen goes black but there is no camera image, check the camera connections.
    2. If the display does not react to reverse gear at all, check that the player is receiving reverse information, e.g. from the steering wheel remote control. Also check that the camera on the player is set to ON and the camera image type is NTSC.
